Cynthia Cox, CPA

Cynthia is the managing partner of Cox and Associates CPAs LLC, a full-service accounting firm whose client base is composed entirely of churches and nonprofit organizations.  The primary goal of her firm is to serve nonprofits in a way that enables them to flourish and grow.  Cynthia’s true passion is serving God by serving others using her accounting and leadership skills.

Cox and Associates CPAs LLC began in 1996, but Cynthia has been practicing public accounting since 1980, when she graduated with honors from Trinity University.  She was certified as a CPA in 1983.  Cynthia’s experience includes 24 years of working exclusively with nonprofit organizations performing audits, reviews and compilations; preparing 990s and 1023s; and consulting.

Cynthia considers education of an organization’s personnel and board members to be a priority and routinely teaches seminars for nonprofits.  Throughout her career, Cynthia has served on boards for several nonprofit organizations.  She currently serves on the CO+OP Board’s Finance committee and as Treasurer of the Board of the Beltway 8 South Crisis Pregnancy Center.  She is past president of the American Women’s Society of CPAs (AWSCPA) National Board and the AWSCPA Houston Affiliate.  She was chosen as the AWSPCA Houston Affiliate’s 2010 Woman of Excellence.
